Briana Clah (Navajo) chipped in 14 points in Nike N7 Game as FLC Skyhawks Defeat NNMC 105-51

DURANGO – November 16, 2017 – A 54-point win Thursday night by the No. 22 Fort Lewis College women’s basketball team improved the Skyhawks record to 3-0 on the season.  FLC (3-0) won their third straight game at home, defeating Northern New Mexico College (1-4), 105-51, at Whalen Gymnasium.

The Skyhawks, who never trailed against the Eagles, out-scored NNMC in the fourth quarter, 31-8.

Five Skyhawks scored in double figures.  Vivian Gray led both teams with 16 points.  She hit 5-of-10 from the floor and 6-of-7 from the free throw line while dishing out three assists and adding three steals and two blocks.

Astrea Reed made 6-of-9 from the floor for 14 points and dished out four assists.  Briana Clah (Navajo) came off the bench and chipped in 14 points.  Clah made all six of her free throw attempts and 2-of-3 from long range.

Jordan Carter and Kayla Herrera (Chippewa) each chipped in 13 points.


FLC scored 16 points off the fast break and dished out 30 assists.  The Skyhawks forced 21 turnovers and outscored NNMC, 33-10, from points off of turnovers.

The Skyhawks were solid from the floor, making 39-of-65 (60 percent), including 8-of-10 from long range.

FLC held a 17-rebound advantage, pulling down 42 rebounds to the Eagles 25.

Jade Hill led the Eagles with nine points and seven rebounds.

Fort Lewis will play their first games away from home Nov. 24-25.  The Skyhawks will play at Angelo State on Nov. 24 at 2:30 p.m., and against Texas A&M-Kingsville the following day at 12:30 p.m.
