STATEMENT FROM NOTAH BEGAY III FOUNDATION CHALLENGE AND ONEIDA INDIAN NATION

Woods will still make appearance at charity fundraiser to help Indian Country

577012_10151137729104320_580912666_nVerona, N.Y. (Aug. 14, 2014) –Lingering back issues have caused Tiger Woods to withdraw from the seventh annual Notah Begay III Foundation Challenge (NB3 Challenge) hosted at Turning Stone Resort & Casino’s Atunyote Golf Club on Oneida Indian Nation lands near Verona, N.Y., on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014.

While we had hoped to see Tiger playing in the Foundation Challenge, we are very pleased to confirm that he is still planning to be at Turning Stone and will attend several events for the Challenge sponsors and tournament VIPs.

“As a former TOUR player who struggled with injuries myself, I fully understand that Tiger needs to prioritize his heath and think about the future,” said Begay. “I truly appreciate his tremendous support of our cause to help Native communities and know he’d be out their competing with us if he could.”

The fully updated eight-player field for the event will be announced soon.
