Louden Johnson’s performance on the varsity football field helped propel his team to a coveted state championship title. A sophomore at Wayne (OK) High School, the Chickasaw student-athlete has demonstrated tremendous talent on both sides of the football field. Last year, as a freshman, he played defense on the varsity. He registered 116 tackles, two interceptions and one touch-down. This year, he had 146 tackles, nine sacks, and one defensive touchdown.Offensively, he carried the ball 62 times for a total of 721 yards, averaging 11.6 yards per carry. He also had seven receptions for 261 yards, aver-aging 37 yards per reception and three touchdowns, helping Wayne High School win the 2011 Oklahoma Class A state championship.
Louden was named the Purcell(Okla.) Register’s Defensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Week four times in his short varsity experience. He also received the 2010 Most Improved and Rookie of the Year awards.
As a student, Louden has excelled academically, maintaining a 4.0 grade point average. He has served two years on the Wayne High School student council, and has twice been elected a Future Farmers of America officer. He has received the Star Green Hand award and the Masonic Student of Today award.
Louden is well respected among his peers and community and is a respected role model for many. He volunteers at the elementary school and serves as a tutor. Louden is carrying on the Chickasaw tradition of excellence.
He is the son of Frank John-son Jr., of Sulphur, Okla., and Josie Spencer, of Wayne, Okla..
He is the grandson of Frank Johnson, Sr., and wife Vicki, the late Beverly Johnson and the nephew of Oklahoma Representative and former Chickasaw legislator Lisa Johnson-Billy.
