Oklahoma State’s Lindy Waters, III (Kiowa/Cherokee) Score 13 Points as Cowboys Cruise Past Arkansas-Pine Bluff

STILLWATER — Jeffrey Carroll scored 18 points and Lindy Waters, III (Kiowa/Cherokee) added 13 to help Oklahoma State defeat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 102-66 on Wednesday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

A pair of freshmen posted season high point totals — Thomas Dziagwa with 14 points and Lindy Waters with 13. The Cowboys shot 47 percent and scored at least 100 points for the fifth time this season and at least 97 points for the seventh time.

Jawun Evans and Phil Forte, III, returned to the starting lineup for the Cowboys after a one-game absence.

The reserves outscored the starters 60-42 in the warmup for Saturday’s showdown with Wichita State.

Deshon Bayless led Arkansas-Pine Bluff with 18 points and Jaquan Lynch added 12.

Oklahoma State forced 31 turnovers and outscored the Golden Lions 32-19 from the free-throw line on coach Brad Underwood‘s 53rd birthday.

Coach Underwood picked up his 97th career victory in just his 113th game. That .858 win percentage is tops among all active Division I coaches. With just 16 career losses, Underwood has a chance to reach his 100th victory faster than any coaches since Missouri’s Doc Meanwell in 1918 (100-9) and Buck Freeman of St. John’s in 1932 (100-10).

The Cowboys are now 5-0 all-time against UAPB, and 25-0 against teams from the SWAC.
