NBA D-League: Ben Strong (Red Lake Nation) Scores Career-High 25 in Loss to Canton Charge

CANTON – The Westchester Knicks (10-32), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, took a tough loss on the road, falling 104-73 Tuesday to the Canton Charge (25-17), the Cleveland Cavaliers’ affiliate.

Westchester forward Darnell Jackson had a hot second quarter, leading the Knicks in scoring with 13 points and rebounds (five). But as a team, Canton outshot Westchester in the first two quarters, leading by 20 points at the half.

The third quarter fared difficult for both teams, as Westchester only managed 18 points to Canton’s 20. The Charge held a 28-point lead over the Knicks to end the quarter. A tough third quarter turned into an even harsher fourth for Westchester as the team scored just 14 points. Canton had 23 in the frame.

Ben Strong (Red Lake Nation) led the Knicks with 25 points, a new single-game high for the center. Jackson followed with 16 points but just missed a double-double with nine rebounds. Doron Lamb finished with 11 points, while Jordan Bachynski grabbed 14 rebounds.

Six players saw double-digits for Canton, led by Maurice Kemp coming off the bench to produce 17 points. Charge center Alex Kirk recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Chris Crawford also scored 15 points.
