Natahnee Spencer (Nez Perce Tribe) named Frontier Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

WHITEFISH, Mont. – After scoring a career-high 27 points en route to being named the Twin Rivers Physical Therapy Classic MVP, Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball guard Natahnee Spencer (Nez Perce Tribe) was named Frontier Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.

Spencer is the first LC women’s basketball player to win the award this season. The 5-foot-6 senior from Lapwai, Idaho, averaged 20.5 points, five rebounds and 3.5 assists in helping the Warriors to a 2-0 week.

Spencer opened the tournament with 14 points and five rebounds as LCSC pummeled NAIA Division II No. 2 Southern Oregon, 90-51. She followed that up with 27 points, five rebounds and four assists in an 82-72 win over College of Idaho. In the contest she was a perfect 6-for-6 from the 3-point arc in the first half, finishing 7-for-9. Her seven 3s tie her for third most in a single game in Warrior history.

For the week, Spencer shot 57.9 percent (11-of-19) from the field and .667 (10-of-15) from beyond the arc while converting 9-of-10 free throw attempts.
