Lane Adams (Choctaw Nation) single leads Gwinnett Braves to 6-4 win over Durham

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Lane Adams (Choctaw Nation) hit a run-scoring single in the sixth inning, leading the Gwinnett Braves to a 6-4 win over the Durham Bulls on Friday.

David Hernandez struck Kean Wong out with a runner on first to end the game for his second save of the season.

The single by Adams came in the midst of a five-run inning and gave the Braves a 5-4 lead. Later in the inning, Kyle Kubitza hit an RBI triple, scoring Adams.

The Bulls went up 4-1 when Curt Casali hit a three-run home run in the fourth.

Jason Hursh (1-0) got the win with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Durham starter Ryan Yarbrough (0-2) took the loss in the International League game.

The six extra-base hits for Gwinnett included a season-high five doubles.

For the Bulls, Casali homered and singled, driving home three runs. Willy Adames doubled and singled.
