Haskell Indian Nations University’s Grant Shorty (Navajo) named A.I.I. Conference Golfer of the Week

The Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) announced on Monday that Grant Shorty of Haskell Indian Nations University (Kan.) has been named the A.I.I.’s Men’s Golfer of the Week for the duration of April 10-16.

Shorty, a sophomore from Albuquerque, N.M., finished second out of 60 golfers on at the Baker Tournament in Lawrence, Kan., on April 10-11, leading the Indians to a ninth place finish.  Shorty shot a three-round total 222 (77, 74, 71) to lead Haskell as the tournament runner-up.  Shorty’s selection is Haskell’s first A.I.I. Golfer of the Week honor in 2017.
