Chelsey Biegler (Cheyenne River Sioux) Named to 2014-2015 RMAC Preseason All-Conference Team

Chelsey Biegler, a senior guard for Black Hills State University and member of the Cheyenne River Sioux tribe, was named a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason All-Conference team in a release by the conference today.

Last season, Chelsey became the first Jacket to earn consecutive First Team All-RMAC honors after finishing near the top 10 in the conference in scoring with 14 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.9 apg, and 1.8 steals per game in 2013-14. Biegler’s most productive statistical game came on Jan. 31 versus Regis, where she finished with a career-high 40 points on 15-of-26 (57.7-pct) shooting that included seven 3-pointers.  In that game, Biegler also tallied four steals, three assists, and three rebounds.

Biegler started all 26 games, averaged 28.1 minutes per game, and finished with 366 points.  She shot 47.7-percent after going 115-of-241 from the field, which included 37 three-pointers.  Bielger went 99-of-133 on free throws (74.4-pct) and had 94 total rebounds (65 defense, 29 offense).  She was effective on the defensive end as well by grabbing 48 steals.  Beigler averaged 20 points per 40 minutes played over the course of the season.

Also last season, Chelsey was the leading scorer in the RMAC championship game where she  finished with 27 points on 7-of-11 shooting with four assists and three rebounds. Biegler also finished a perfect 11-of-11 from the free-throw line.

For her efforts throughout the tournament, Biegler was named to the RMAC Shootout All-Tournament team
