by POCATELLO, Idaho – Boise State sweeps Idaho State 3-0 to pick up its eighth sweep of the season.
The Bengals (8-4) opened set one with a 4-0 lead. The Broncos (8-5) slowly battled black with a balanced offense. Idaho State continued to pull ahead while Boise State attempted to chip away at the lead. Kendall Hastings tied it up at 23-23 with a kill. The two teams exchanged leads at the very end of the set until Azlynn Tittmann scored a kill and the Broncos secured the set 28-26 off of the Bengals’ attack error.
Hastings tallied another kill to set the pace in set two. Tittmann kept the momentum going with two more kills. With an assist from Jenelle Legates, Giselle Paedon tallied a clutch kill to lead the set 8-7. The Broncos’ explosive offense continued to attack, leading 15-12. Athena Cox and Paedon stopped Idaho State’s attack with a block to make it 20-19. The Blue and Orange only allowed one more on the board for the Bengals the remainder of the set, winning the second set 25-20.
Sydney Dreves established an early rhythm in set three with a kill. After the Bengals went on a four-point scoring run to take a 8-4 lead, the Broncos found their groove to narrow the gap, 18-16. The set went back and forth until Dreves and Hastings put up a block to lead 23-22. Dreves sealed the set-three win, 25-23, with a service ace.
