by SPOKANE, Wash. — Guard Kendall Wallace scored 23 points Saturday as Lewis-Clark State opened its season with a heartbreaking 59-58 loss to No. 12 Rocky Mountain at the Northwest Crossover Classic.
Wallace was the Warriors’ top scorer, hitting 5 of 7 from three-point range and all 6 of her free throws while adding 7 rebounds in the opener.
LC State went toe-to-toe with the ranked Battlin’ Bears all afternoon but came up one point short in the final moments.
The loss opens the Warriors’ season at 0-1 despite a strong debut from Wallace, who set the tone offensively from the perimeter.
