Dylan Edwards (Mvskoke/Seminole) paced the Jayhawks with 137 yards and three touchdowns in Weekend Win

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Behind a dominant rushing attack and a relentlessly aggressive defensive front, Kansas rolled to a resounding 55-0 victory over Middle Tennessee.

The Jayhawks asserted control from the opening quarter and never looked back, methodically pulling away with explosive run plays, sharp quarterback play, and a defense that completely stifled the Blue Raiders’ offense.

Early Ground Work Sets the Tone

Kansas set the tone early by controlling the clock and the line of scrimmage. After forcing a touchback on Middle Tennessee’s opening drive, quarterback Isaiah Marshall led an efficient opening march, breaking free for key scrambles to set up a 43-yard field goal by Martin Connington for the initial 3-0 lead.

Middle Tennessee found no rhythm against Kansas’ front seven. Quarterback Roman Gagliano faced constant pressure from Kansas defenders like Leroy Harris III and Dak Brinkley, leading to quick three-and-outs and forcing MTSU punter Ashton Logan onto the field early and often.

Jayhawks Blow It Open Before Half

Kansas expanded its lead in the second quarter by turning to tailback Dylan Edwards and an elusive Marshall. Edwards capped a grueling drive with a 6-yard touchdown plunge to make it 10-0.

After another defensive stop, Marshall connected with Edwards on a 30-yard screen pass before hitting Cam Pickett deep inside the 10. Edwards capped off the drive with his second score—a 5-yard TD run—stretching the lead to 17-0. Connington tacked on a 35-yard field goal just before halftime to send Kansas into the locker room with a commanding 20-point cushion.

Third-Quarter Dominance

Kansas put any hopes of a Blue Raider comeback to rest coming out of the half. Dylan Edwards ripped off a 12-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter to cap a 48-yard drive.

Later in the period, Marshall delivered the throw of the game, connecting with Nahzae Cox on a 34-yard touchdown pass over the top of the MTSU secondary. Defensive end Leroy Harris III sealed the quarter by recovering an Antonio Martin Jr. fumble, keeping Middle Tennessee shut out completely.

Donald Collier closed out the game on the ground, helping run the final minutes off the clock as Kansas sealed a dominant shut-out victory.
