Yankees outright Outfielder Lane Adams (Choctaw Nation) to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre

(New York)  – Lane Adams (Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma) will remain in the New York Yankees organization, as the team announced Thursday night that the outfielder has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre.

As the Yankees also Tweeted, Adams has been invited to Spring Training, giving the team 26 non-roster invitees in camp.

Adams, 26, was claimed off waivers from Kansas City earlier this winter, but was designated for assignment by the Yankees on February 1 to make room for infielder Ronald Torreyes, who was re-claimed off waivers from the Angels.

Originally a 13th-round pick of the Royals in 2009, Adams has spent all seven of his previous professional seasons in their organization. He split 2015 between Double-A Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha, hitting a combined .281 with 16 home runs, 62 RBI, and 31 stolen bases.
