USAO Freshman Stephon Hall (Mvskoke Creek) finished with a career-high 19 points in Loss to SCU

BETHANY, Okla. – The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (14-5, 7-4 SAC) suffered a tough 82-94 defeat to Southwestern Christian University (12-7, 7-4 SAC)  on Tuesday night in Bethany.

The Drovers and Eagles battled back-and-forth in the first half, but USAO would finish with the 46-45 lead at the break. Stephon Hall (Mvskoke Creek) led all players in scoring in the first half with 11 points, while Dedrian Parmer(JR/Oklahoma City, OK) added 9 points and 8 rebounds. The Eagles and Drovers each shot the ball well in the first half, shooting .562  and .529, respectively. SCU shot 5-11 from deep in the first, while USAO shot 8-10 from the free-throw line. 

The Eagles came out flying in the second half, as they started out on a 7-2 run. The Drovers would pull within three points with 6:55 remaining in regulation, but that would be as close as they would get. After shooting well in the first, the Drovers would only shoot .440 from the floor and .125 from deep in the second half. SCU was able to win the rebounding battle 34-28, and they were also able to force USAO into committing 19 turnovers, scoring 23 points off of those turnovers. 

Although the Drovers suffered the loss, they also had a few standout performances. Dedrian Parmer scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (tied for season-high). Stephon Hall finished with a career-high of 19 points, to go along with 3 assists and 3 steals. Cameron Hines (SO/Ft. Cobb, OK) recorded 12 points and 4 assists. Geno Artison (SR/Seattle, WA) concluded the night with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Clay Long (SR/Plain Dealing, LA) and Gerard Makuntae(FR/Atlanta, GA) each finished the game with 6 points.
