United Tribes wins another close game on the road at Williston

The United Tribes Technical College Thunderbirds were able to hold off the Tetons of Williston State College in their third consecutive one possession game 79-78 Thursday night in Williston.  The Thunderbirds have now won 5 straight and 11 of their last 13 games.

Trailing 78-77 with 15 seconds remaining United Tribes called timeout to set up and inbounds play underneath their own basket.  On the possession DK Middleton found a cutting Cayden Redfield for his 10th assist of the night leaving the Tetons 9 seconds and trailing by 1.  After a timeout Williston State was able to advance the ball to half court and called another timoute with 5 seconds remaining.  On the inbounds from the sideline the ball found the Tetons Abiodun Adedo who was able to get off a good shot in the paint that just rimmed out at the buzzer allowing the Thunderbirds to escape with the 79-78 victory.  

United Tribes had another balanced scoring attack with Redfield leading the way with 18 points and 7 rebounds.  Jesse White added 13.  Jayden Yankton and Sylvester Union each added 11 points and Teron Sazue had 10.  Middleton had a game high 10 assists.  

United Tribes returns home for a clash with league leading Dawson Community College on Sunday at 3pm followed by another home contest against Miles Community College on Monday at 7:30pm.  The win pushes the Thunderbirds record to 16-6 and 10-4 in the Mon Dak for the season.
