Chalmer Combellick‘s (Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe) helped the Minnesota Morris Cougars top the Cobbers in the dual cross country meet 21 to 40. He was only one of two the field to finish under 17 minutes with Combellick’s time at 16:36. For his efforts he was also named UPPER MIDWEST ATHLETIC CONFERENCE (UMAC) men’s cross country runner of the week.
After a pair of Cobber runners finished third and fourth, Cougar runners took the next six places with the top three of them counting toward the team total. Freshman Ryan Anderson‘s time of 17:13 was good for fifth place and David Roanhorse time of 17:22 was good for sixth.
The Cougar teams next compete September 17 at the St. Olaf Invitational in Northfield.
