Tyler Bray (Potawatomi) battling for spot as Chiefs’ backup QB

By News Sentinel Staff

Tyler Bray is in a crowded quarterback battle to back up Alex Smith with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Bray didn’t do much to stand out from the pack in Saturday’s 17-16 preseason loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Kansas City, Mo.

The former Tennessee Vol went 3-for-9 for 48 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions.

The good news for Bray is that none of his competition put up staggering numbers, either.

Former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray was 3-for-5 with 52 yards. Newly signed Nick Foles went 4-for-8 with 37 yards and Kevin Hogan was 2-for-6 for 21 yards. None of the QBs had a touchdown and Hogan threw the only interception.
