Tyler Bray on 2012 Heisman Watch List

Tyler Bray (Citizen Band Potawatomi tribal member) has been named to the Heismanpundit.com  Heisman trophy watch list for the upcoming 2012 football season. Tyler, QB for the University of Tennessee Volunteer’s, joins a list of 18 athletes who will be followed throughout the season and upgraded and downgraded as play begins week to week.

Tyler played sparingly last season due to a season ending thumb injury that only allowed him to play in five games. Despite the injury he was still able to garner a SEC Player of the Week Honor and was named to the  pre-season Peyton Manning, Davey O’Brian, and Maxwell watch lists. As a Freshman, Tyler was named SEC Player of the Week a total of three times and played in nine games for the Vols in which he started the final five. Among freshman Division I quarterbacks that year he ranked third in QB rating (142.73), tied for fourth in TDs, sixth in passing yards per game (205.4) and 10th in total yards.
