Tina Marie Coronado (Oneida): Influenced By Big Brother By Watching Him Win And Lose And To Push To Get Better

By Dan Ninham (Oneida)

“I do gymnastics and floor exercise, vault, beam, bars, eating healthy, and working out,” said Tina Marie.

Tina Marie is 11 years old, 4-8 and weighs 75 lbs. She attends the sixth grade at Our Lady of Lourdes School.

“I’m Oneida and I’m from Green Bay, Wisconsin,” said Tina Marie. “My parents are Tina Lopez Webster and her tribe is Oneida and Fernando Coronado and we live in Green Bay.”

“I come from a line of athletes,” said Tina Marie.  “Growing up I went to every single one of my brother Fernando Coronado III wrestling meets and I always watched him win and lose but I always knew that he had to push himself so that he could win. I know he pushed himself because I watched him want to give up but he never did, and his titles are that he was a state champion wrestler and he got his first full scholarship at 8th grade.”

“Anything is possible,” said Tina Marie. “My dad had a stroke and I know that he’s not the same but I still push myself and I push him and that my mom tries her hardest to do everything for me and so does my father.”

“I went to state for gymnastics three times and I want to do gymnastics in college,” said Tina Marie. “I want to do what my brother did and I want to wrestle. I also do pageants and I act model and sing.”

“This is my second year coaching Tina Marie and I’ve enjoyed coaching her a lot,” said Kelsie Krebsbach, gymnastics coach at Air Force Gymnastics Academy.  “She has a bubbly personality that brings in a lot of fun at the gym. She is 11 years old and has been doing gymnastics here for six years now. She has competed at Level 2, 3, 4 JO competitive gymnastics. She just finished her last season as a level 4 and is now making the difficult transition into optional gymnastics where she gets to score out of level 5 and go to Level 6. This is one of the most tricky transitions as a young gymnast and she is doing very well.”

“Over the years she has done great on all four events but has excelled on her beam. Her top scores as a level 4 gymnast are as follows: Vault 9.0 was a 3rd place finish, Bars 8.2, Beam 9.2 was a 1st place finish, Floor 8.85 was a 2nd place finish and All-Around Score of 34.450 was a 3rd place finish. She is a hard working athlete and has a lot of fun when she comes into the gym. We hope to have her at the gym for many more years and wish her luck as she goes into the optional levels of gymnastics,” added Coach Kelsie.
