Southeastern Oklahoma State University Softball Signs JUCO standout Kyia Monahwee (Mvskoke Creek)

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern softball coach Ron Faubion has announced the signing of Kyia Monahwee (Mvskoke Creek) who will join the club starting in the 2020 season.

Monahwee will have two seasons to play after transferring from Northern Oklahoma in Tonkowa, Okla.

“She will be able to come in and add run production,” said Faubion. “After graduating five seniors last season she will be a big bat who can come in and hit clean-up for us.”

She was dominant in her sophomore season at NOC, earning All-Region honors after leading her conference in home runs with 16 and RBI with 63.

She was a .396 hitter last season, adding seven triples and 14 doubles to her 16 homers, while carrying a .477 on-base percentage and slugging .802.

Monahwee also one of just three players in all NJCAA DI competition to post at least 15 homers and 30 stolen bases, finishing with 31 swipes on the year.

She played her high school ball at Morris HS where she was an all-state selection and four-time all-conference player under head coach and former Southeastern baseball player Johnathon Clay.
