Sophomore attackman Matthew Bennett (Onondaga Nation) was named to the 2016 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American First Team

player_18Syracuse, N.Y. – Onondaga Community College men’s lacrosse team placed Matthew Bennett (Onondaga Nation) on the 2016 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American First team.

Matthew Bennett – The sophomore attackman from the Onondaga Reservation played in all 15 games for the 13-2 Lazers this season. He tallied 60 points on 21 goals and 39 assists for the offense. Bennett’s 60 points ranked eighth in the region which landed him the 2016 Region III Player of the Year. This is the second straight year that Bennett has been named a First-Team All-American after being given the honor his freshman year. Bennett’s best performance came in the team’s matchup against Mohawk Valley Community College on April 22 which he notched seven points on two goals and five assists. Bennett recorded five or more points in five contests this season.
