Sandy Cohen (Oneida) has game-high 22 points for Green Bay who fall short to IUPUI, 76-70

GREEN BAY, Wis. — IUPUI scored seven of the final nine points and escaped Green Bay with a 76-70 win on Thursday night at the Resch Center. The Phoenix (9-10, 3-3 HL) led 65-64 with just under 4 minutes left, but the visiting Jaguars (11-8, 3-3 HL) pulled away from there to hand GB its first loss at the Resch this year.

Sandy Cohen III (Oneida Nation) led GB offensively with 22 points and 8 rebounds, while JayQuan McCloud and ShanQuan Hemphill added 18 and 11 points respectively. The Phoenix forced IUPUI into a Horizon League-high 24 turnovers, but was only able to convert that into 23 ponits.

GB will look to bounceback on Saturday when it hosts UIC at the Resch Center for a 12 p.m. tip. The game will serve as the program’s annual BlackOut Cancer game presented by Prevea Health, with the first 700 kids in attendance receiving a free youth jersey.
