Rickie Fowler (Navajo) was named to the United States Ryder Cup squad it was announced by USA Team Captain Davis Love III

CHASKA, Minn. – Former Oklahoma State All-American Rickie Fowler was named to the United States Ryder Cup squad it was announced by team captain Davis Love III.

Fowler, who was one of three captain’s picks with J.B. Holmes and Matt Kuchar also being announced on Monday, for the 41st Ryder Cup. The event will be contested Sept. 27-Oct. 2 at Hazeltine National Golf Club.

Eleven of the squad’s 12 roster spots have now been filled with the final selection comping on Sept. 25.

For Fowler, this will mark his third Ryder Cup appearance and his first on American soil. He previously played in 2014 at Gleneagles and 2010 at Celtic Manor. The Murrieta, Calif., native has six professional wins to his credit and is currently No. 9 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

This season, Fowler has eight top-10 PGA Tour finishes and a win at the European Tour’s Abu Dhabi Championship. Additionally, he represented the U.S. at the Rio Olympic Games in August.

Fowler has previously represented the U.S. at the 2015 Presidents Cup, the 2007 and 2009 Walker Cups
