Caldwell, Idaho – Northwest University (5-13, 2-6 CCC) lost to College of Idaho (7-7, 5-3 CCC) in a tough game on Friday night with a final score of 69-61.

The Eagles grabbed an early lead in the game, ending the first quarter up 17-16. The Yotes built their lead early in the second quarter, however, by going on a 12-2 run. They finished the half up by seven. With four minutes left in the game, a three-pointer from Alyx Fast brought the score to within two points, but the Yotes held on for the win.

Mariah Stacona (Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs )finished with a team-leading 15 points in the loss. Alyx Fast added five assists, and Miranda Langenhorst reined in eight rebounds. No other Eagle scored in double digits, however, as the team shot 28% from the field.

The Eagles were also heavily out-rebounded, with the Yotes grabbing 57 rebounds, including 20 offensive rebounds, in the loss.

Northwest head coach Ken Crawford commented, “This was a tough and frustrating loss for the Lady Eagles tonight. We could not get over the hump as we played with too much inconsistency. The task will be just as difficult tomorrow night as we travel to play nationally-ranked Eastern Oregon.”
