Nike N7 Ambassador & Slam-Dunk Innovator Kenny Dobbs (Choctaw) to perform Nov. 27 at Nevada Women’s Basketball Half-time

RENO, Nev. – Nike N7 ambassador and slam-dunk innovator Kenny Dobbs  will perform at halftime of the Nevada women’s basketball game this Friday, Nov. 27 against Utah Valley as part of the University of Nevada’s partnership with Nike N7 and celebration of Native American Heritage Month.

A member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, Dobbs is recognized internationally as one of the best basketball slam-dunk artist in the world. He has toured with the NBA and Sprite as a celebrity dunker, performing in front of sold-out stadiums during halftime shows, celebrity games and NBA All-Star Weekend. He has also served three years as the chairman on the Arizona State Youth Advisory Council for Alcohol and Substance Abuse Prevention and has founded the Uprise Youth Movement to empower youth.

This will be Dobbs’ second halftime show performance at Nevada as he put on a show at halftime of a men’s basketball game back in 2011.

Prior to Dobbs’ halftime show and to the start of the game between the Wolf Pack and Wolverines, current Nevada student-athlete MorningRose Tobey (Sioux) and graduate assistant and former Wolf Pack player Tahnee Robinson (Northern Cheyenne) will hold a skills clinic from 11-12:30 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center. Both Tobey and Robinson will sign autographs following the conclusion of the Nevada game. Fans are encouraged to stay after the clinic to watch the first game of the annual Nugget Classic between the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders and the Alabama Crimson Tide, which will tip-off at 2 p.m.

For the Nevada contest, which is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. and will follow the first game, the first 500 fans will receive a free hot dog and the first 250 fans will receive a free N7 t-shirt.
