NFL Draft: Ronnell Lewis selected by Detroit Lions in 4th Round

The Detroit Lions added depth with its fourth-round pick and drafted Oklahoma defensive end/linebacker Ronnell Lewis (Muscogee Creek tribe).

Last season, Lewis (6-foot-2 and 253 pounds) was sixth on the Sooners with 59 tackles, second with 13 tackles for loss. Also posted 5.5 sacks, five pass breakups and an interception. He was named First Team All-Big 12.

In 2010, Lewis shifted to a defensive end/linebacker hybrid position. He started the team’s final four games.

Lewis has 118 tackles (67 solo) with ten sacks and seven quarterback pressures in his career. He also intercepted two passes, plus caused and recovered three fumbles.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, Lewis completed 36 repetitions in the 225-pound bench press. He also ran the 40-yard dash in 4.72 seconds.
