HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – After finishing the River Landing Classic with a 1-under-par and earning a spot at fourth place among individuals, Marshall women’s golferStormy Randazzo has been named Conference USA’s golfer of the week, the league announced Wednesday.

“I am proud of Stormy and the energy she brings to our team and to the course every day,” head coach Brooke Burkhammer said. “She deserves this and I know this won’t be the only accolade she will receive during her time at Marshall.”

With the honor, Randazzo becomes the first Herd freshman to receive the award since joining C-USA. It is the first time to be awarded during her career, while she is the first Marshall freshman to be a recipient of a league’s golfer of the week since Allyson Hatcher was named the Mid-American Conference’s Golfer of the Week for the week of March 24, 2004.

Randazzo is also the second golfer for the Herd to win the award this season after junior golfer Ylva Forslund won the award twice the season.

At the River Landing Classic, the freshman finished with an overall score of 215 and 1-under par. She led the Herd to a top five finish among 14 teams, while she was tied for fourth place among a field of 83 golfers.
