Lindy Waters III (Kiowa/Cherokee) Scores 22 Points but Salt Lake City pulls away from Oklahoma City 123-102

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Lindy Waters III scores 22 points on 8-for-13 shooting, including six 3-pointers, but Salt Lake City pulled away from Oklahoma City 123-102.

The Blue were led by another reserve, Jaden Shackelford, with a game-high 25 points paired with four rebounds, and four assists. D.J. Wilson added 11 points and five rebounds. Blue Abdul Gaddy dished out a game-high 12 assists. 

Oklahoma City came out of the gate hot, taking a seven-point lead with 7:36 left in the first quarter, but Salt Lake City closed the period on a 12-5 run to catch the Blue’s lead and claim the first quarter 28-27. The second period fell in the Stars’ favor once more despite a Blue lead 52-46 with just over a remaining two minutes to play, Jazz assignment player Leandro Bolmaro drove the team with a layup and step back shot to regain a Stars five-point lead at intermission.

The Stars held their lead through the final two periods as they outscored the blue 92-76 in the third before grabbing 123-102 victory. Rawle Alkins tallied 10 of his 12 points in the second half while handing off seven assists, while Paris Bass went 9-of-14 from the field to help secure Salt Lake City’s 21-point win. 

Salt Lake City held the advantage in three-pointers (17-14), grabbed more rebounds (42-32), dished out more assists (33-32), and tallied more second-chance points (15-13). Oklahoma led in fast-break points (11-7) and took more field goal attempts (86-82), while both teams tied in steals (10-10) and bench points (50-50).
