AMES, Iowa — Oklahoma State’s women’s basketball team saw its six-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday evening with a 90-80 loss to Iowa State inside Hilton Coliseum.

The setback was also the first in six tries in Big 12 play for OSU, which had its best start in conference play since the 1992-93 campaign.

The Cyclones raced out to a 15-10 lead in the first after hitting six of their first eight shots attempts from the floor. During that stretch, ISU drilled three of its four 3-point attempts.

Despite eight points in the quarter from Natasha Mack, OSU faced a 20-14 deficit heading into the second period. The senior would go on to score a career-high 34 points to go with 13 rebounds and five assists.

The Cyclones scored the first four of the second quarter to push the margin into double figures for the first time at the 9:22 mark. For the half, Iowa State drilled seven treys on its way to a 42-33 lead.

In the third, the Cowgirls used an 8-0 run fueled by back-to-back treys from sophomore Lauren Fields and freshman Lexy Keys to get within four at 47-43. However, the Cyclones would counter and push the lead back to 11 with two minutes left in the quarter.

OSU got within five on two occasions in the fourth, but could get no closer. Freshman Lexy Keys (Cherokee) finished the night with 14 points and added a team and game-high 8 assists
