Lakota Beatty has 5 Points and 4 Assists for Cowgirls in 62-71 Loss to TCU

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State’s women’s basketball team saw its losing streak reach three on Saturday with a 71-62 loss to TCU in front of 2,746 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The Cowgirls fell to 12-6 overall and 2-5 in Big 12 play, while the Horned Frogs improved to 12-6 and 4-3.

OSU scored the game’s first eight points before TCU answered with a 9-0 run of its own. The Cowgirls responded with the game’s next nine points and led by eight with five minutes left in the half.

TCU scored 17 of the final 19 points in the period to lead 34-25 at the break.

After the break, the Horned Frogs quickly pushed the margin into double figures, leading by as many as 16.

OSU was able to trim its deficit to six twice in the final two minutes, but could get no closer.

Junior Brittney Martin led the Cowgirls with 15 points and nine rebounds, while TCU’s Zahna Medley led all scorers with 24 points.

Lakota Beatty (Caddo/Lakota/GrosVentre) had 5 points and 4 assists in 14 minutes of play for the Cowgirls.

OSU will be back in action on Jan. 28 when it travels to Manhattan, Kan., to take on Kansas State.
