Kevin Hill (Muscogee Creek) Named Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week

TUCSON, Ariz. – University of South Alabama baseball right-hander Kevin Hill (Muscogee Creek Nation) was named a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, as announced by the organization Monday.

Hill tossed a one-hit shutout and struck out a career-high 15 batters to record his seventh consecutive win and second complete game of the season in Friday’s series opener with Georgia State. The right-hander carried a no-hitter into the ninth inning, aided by a stretch where he retired 16 consecutive GSU batters from the third to the eighth inning.

Hill is the first Jaguar to earn Louisville Slugger National Player-of-the-Week honors since Jake Overstreet earned the distinction in March 2010. He is one of four pitchers to receive this week’s recognition from Collegiate Baseball.
