Haskell Indian Nations University Women’s Basketball begin New Year with 60-48 Win over Georgetown College

(Point Lookout, MO) – The Haskell Indian Nations University women’s basketball started the new year with 60-48 win over the Georgetown college Tigers at the CAM JAM Classic hosted by College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri.

The Lady Indians were led by senior guard Kortney Meat (Kingfisher, OK) who had a game-high 21 points. Also, getting in the double digit scoring column was fellow senior Cerissa Honena-Reyes (Fort Hall, ID ) who had 13 points for Haskell.

Georgetown got within one, 18-17, late in the second quarter, but an Indian timeout refocused Haskell and the finished on a 5-2 run for a four-point halftime edge.

The Tigers struggled early to find an offensive rhythm, putting them behind Haskell almost from the start. The Indians were able to find enough offense at the right times to keep a surging Tigersteam at bay and win 60-48 in the opening day of the Cam Jam Tournament.
