Haskell Indian Nations University Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams Advance to Conference Tourney

(Lawrence, KS) – The Haskell Indian Nations University Men’s and Women’s basketball teams finished regular season games over the weekend with both squads advancing to the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) tournament.

Per MCAC rules, only the top six teams advance to the conference tournament after the regular season and the only real excitement for the women’s team was to try and improve their position in the conference race by one spot. On the men’s side however, the Indians were on the outside looking in to try and get in the tournament and with back-to-back road game wins against #10 ranked College of the Ozarks and Central Baptist College Haskell was able to secure the a spot in the tournament.

The Lady Indians (20-8, 9-5) secured the #2 seed in the MCAC North Tournament and will travel to Omaha, Nebraska on Friday, February 27th to take on #3 seed York College.

The Haskell men (8-22, 6-8) will travel to the MCAC North Tournament at Bellevue, Nebraska as the #3 seed and will take on #2 seed Waldorf College.
