Gavin Potter (Mvskoke Creek) sees Time on Defense for Kansas

LAWRENCE- After not getting playing time on defense in the first two games of the season, Freshman Gavin Potter has seen significant playing time in the last two games for the Jayhawks and the impact of his presence has been felt.

On Friday, September 13th against Boston College, Potter made his Jayhawk debut and recorded five tackles.

That same night, the Jayhawks upset Boston College on the road, 48-24. It was the first road win over a Power Five opponent for Kansas since 2008.

On Saturday against West Virginia, Potter recorded two tackles in his first ever home game at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.

Potter’s second tackle of the game was on a 3rd down, late in the game, which forced West Virginia to punt. Despite Potter’s performance, the Jayhawks fell to West Virginia 29-24.

Potter’s Jayhawks are 2-2 on the season, with wins over Indiana State and Boston College. Next up for Kansas is a road test against TCU on Saturday, September 28th.
