Fresno State junior Hayleigh Galvan (Cherokee) was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Pacific Region second team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Fresno State junior designated player Hayleigh Galvan (Cherokee Nation) was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Pacific Region second team announced by the organization on Thursday.

Galvan earned her second NFCA All-Region selection after being named All-Pacific Region third team in her first season with the Bulldogs last year.

The ‘Dogs have had at least one All-Region selection in six straight seasons and had multiple honorees for the fifth time in the last six years. All-Region Selections are based on statistics for the entire season with an emphasis on games against teams in the Top-75 in RPI as of May 1, whereas All-MW selections, which were announced on Wednesday, are based solely on conference games.

Galvan, who also earned All-MW second team honors on Wednesday, hit .336 and led the team with nine home runs and 42 RBIs during the regular season. She also led the team in on-base percentage (.457), ranking fourth in the MW, led the team in slugging percentage (.579), was second with 27 walks, and was tied for third with seven doubles.

Galvan led the team with 12 multi-RBI games with five 3-RBI games. She reached base in 17 straight games to start the season and tallied 13 multi-hit games. She recorded her first career two-homer game last week against Boise State and hit a go-ahead three-run homer to give the ‘Dogs a series win at UNLV, earning MW Player of the Week honors after each of those performances.
