Des Gonzalez (Navajo) has Double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds in ACU’s 85-51 Win

SURPRISE, Ariz. – The Arizona Christian University women’s basketball program (10-5; 4-3 GSAC) moved above .500 in conference play Thursday with an 85-51 win at OUAZ (4-8; 0-7 GSAC) inside Faith Arena.

Thoughts from Coach:

Following the win, Rusty Rogers said, “It wasn’t one of our finer games but I thought our effort, tenacity, and hustle made the difference.  Our half-court offensive execution left a lot to be desired.”

Series Notes:

ACU moves to 7-1 all-time against OUAZ with the win, and now holds a three-game winning streak over the Spirit dating back to last season.

Game Details:

ACU took its first lead with 8:18 left in the first quarter and would not trail again.  The Firestorm outscored the Spirit in each quarter, leading by as many as 36 points en route to earning the 85-51 conference win.
