Cowley College sophomore Kayla Noear (Ponca Tribe) signed her letter of intent to continue her track & field career at Quincy University

Cowley College sophomore Kayla Noear (Ponca Tribe), a returning All-American in the discus that qualified for both the indoor and outdoor track and field national championships as a freshman, recently signed a letter of intent to continue her track and field career at Quincy University in Quincy, Illinois.

Noear came to Cowley from Ponca City, OK, where she was a talented thrower. However, she has taken her athletic ability to another level at Cowley.

“I have grown up at Cowley and learned a lot of life lessons,” Noear said. “The coaches here are like family to me.”

With Noear gearing up for another All-American campaign, she has helped the Lady Tiger track and field team to a No. 8 national ranking.

Cowley throws coach Glenwood Edwards has enjoyed the opportunity to work with Noear.

“I could not ask for a better student-athlete to coach,” Edwards said. “She is always reliable and has been a joy to coach.”

Noear chose Quincy not only because of its track and field program, but also because of its nursing program.

“Their nursing program is amazing and I look forward to help improve their track program,” Noear said.
