Coral Gillette (MHA/Sioux) posted 14 points in UMary’s 110-52 win over Presentation College

BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary women’s basketball team can put up points and they can put them up fast. They did just that tonight in the Marauders 110-52 win over Presentation College. Lexie Schneider recorded her third straight double-double of the season, with a career high of 18 points to go along with 11 rebounds. The sophomore knocked down 78 percent of her shots from the field. Cassie Askvig posted a game high with 21 points off of 73 percent shooting from the field. It wasn’t just Askvig and Schneider putting on a show, the whole team knocked down 55 percent of their shots from the field and 50 percent from deep with 12 different Marauders getting buckets on the evening.

With the victory, UMary improves to 3-3 on the season.

FIRST HALF BREAKDOWN
The Marauders held the advantage in every quarter but it was the first quarter that the squad really created separation. UMary put up an astounding 36 points in the first quarter of action to take a 26 point lead into the second quarter. The Marauders followed that up with a 25 point second quarter, outscoring the opposition by 14 to take a 40 point lead to half. UMary knocked down 64 percent of their shots from the field in the first half and 53 percent from deep.

SECOND HALF BREAKDOWN
The Marauders turned to the bench in the second half and UMary just kept on rolling. The team outscored the Saints by 18 in the second half, winning the third quarter 25-18 and the fourth 24-13. The team would shoot 46 percent from the field and 47 percent from deep in the second half to complete their dominant game.
