Britanie Wacoche (Cherokee) led Ottawa University women’s golf team to fourth place finish at the Sterling Spring Invitational

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The Ottawa University women’s golf team finished fourth at the Sterling Spring Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The Braves shot a 356 in round one and a 360 in round two for a final score of 716.

Britanie Wacoche (Cherokee Nation) led OU, finishing with a tie for 11th. She shot an 85 in round and an 86 in round two (171). Hope Tsosie (Navajo) tied for 14th for the Braves. She shot a two round score of 173, shooting an 86 in round one and an 87 in round two. Breana Lowry placed 25th with a score of 184. She shot a 93 in round one and a 91 in round two.

Kendra Martin and Jessica Carlson tied for 30th. Carlson finished with a score of 191, shooting a 95 in round one and a 96 in round two. Martin shot a 92 in round one and a 99 in round two (191). Jana Jones finished the tournament with a score of 197 to place 37th. She shot a 101 in round one and a 96 in round two.

The Braves are back in action on Sunday, April 15 at the KCAC Championships at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, Kan.
