Briana Clah (Navajo) Scores 13 Points in Fort Lewis Win over Northern New Mexico

DURANGO, Colo. – November 19, 2016 – Sophomore forward Alyssa Yocky scored a season high 17 points Saturday night to lead the Fort Lewis College women’s basketball team to a 69-46 home opening win over Northern New Mexico College.  The win improves the Skyhawks to 4-0 overall.  The Eagles drop to 4-4 on the season.

FLC jumped to a 12-6 lead after the first quarter of action and headed into halftime with a 25-19 advantage.  The Skyhawks, who never trailed in the game, outscored the Eagles in the second half, 69-46.

Yocky made 4-of-7 field goals and all eight free throw attempts while grabbing five rebounds, two steals, and blocking one shot.

Ande Lampert recorded a game high 11 rebounds and chipped in four points.  Briana Clah (Navajo) made all seven free throw attempts as part of her 13 points while dishing out five dimes and adding three steals.

The Skyhawks finished the game shooting 37.1 percent from the floor but only 16.7 percent from long range (3-of-18).

FLC dominated the boards, outrebounding the Eagles by 20, 56-36.

The Skyhawks will return to action Dec. 2-3 when they play host to Colorado State-Pueblo and New Mexico Highlands.  Both games will tip off at 5:30 p.m.
