Zeke Faulkenberry is Choctaw and Chickasaw. He is a senior at Lexington HS in Lexington, OK and he plays on the basketball and baseball teams.

Faulkenberry is a two-time All District outfielder and made the All Tournament Team in basketball.

“I am proud to represent my tribes in the sports I play and I reflect on those values by going hard all the time and being a leader to my teammates,” said Faulkenberry.

Faulkenberry has aspirations for college athletics. “I want to play college basketball or college baseball and I am putting in the work in the offseason to make big strides on my game. I play AAU basketball to keep on playing the game I love.”

Faulkenberry’s dad Stephen is his main mentor. He said, “He has always been there for me and always tries to lift me up when I doubt myself about not getting recruited and he is always giving me advice that could help me in the future.”

“Zeke is tenacious and passionate,” said Stephen Faulkenberry. “In regionals his team was in a win or go home mode and they beat Frederick to advance and he had 24pts and 11 assists to help Lexington advance to another day in regionals.”

Tyler Thetford is the high school basketball coach. He said, “One of Zeke’s positive attributes is perseverance. Throughout his junior year he was plagued with ankle injuries. Despite the multiple injuries and pain, Zeke showed up every day to practice as hard as could. Never letting the pain or injury deter him from playing.”

“Two or three times he actually injured his ankle during the games and refused to sit or stop playing. His perseverance will be one of his strongest attributes that will carry him throughout the rest of his life,” added Coach Thetford.
