by (Lawrence, KS) – Sophomore middle hitter Aspen Sheperd (Navajo) of Haskell Indian Nations University has been named Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC )Women’s Volleyball Hitter of the Week for the week ending Oct. 12.
A native of Window Rock, Ariz., Sheperd averaged 5.13 kills and 0.88 blocks per game last week over a pair of matches for the Indians. In a 3-2 setback at College of Saint Mary, she had 29 kills and six total blocks.
Haskell is 9-13 on the season.
Last season for Haskell Indian Nations University, Sheperd was named the MCAC conference Freshman player of the year.
