Alissa Pili (Inupiaq/Samoan) Added 18 Points for No. 19 Utah in Big Win over Cal (RV)

SALT LAKE CITY – The No. 19 Utah Utes cruised to victory over #RV California Sunday afternoon with the Utes coming away with the 93-56 victory. 

Utah had five Utes score in double figures and big contributions from off the bench for a complete game. The Utes were led by Ines Vieira who had 19 points, five assists, five steals and four rebounds. Reese Ross came off the bench for the game high 10 rebounds. Utah is now 12-5 overall on the season and 2-3 in Pac-12 play. 

GAME SUMMARY 
The Utes hit their stride early in the game by stringing together an 11-1 run to take an 18-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. 

Utah had a big second quarter putting up 29 points for the highest scoring quarter of the game. The Utes ended the first half with five unanswered points including a driving lay-up that drew the foul for a three point play from Kennady McQueen. As the first half ended Utah had a 47-21 lead. 

The Utes pushed their lead to 30 after a 9-0 run early in the third quarter. Utah held Cal scoreless for the final four minutes of the third quarter and went on a 7-0 run to push for a 70-38 lead going into the final quarter. 

The Bears hit back-to-back threes to start the fourth quarter but Utah responded with its biggest run of the game. Alissa Pili did some work in the paint that sparked the 13-0 run for the Utes. With three minutes remaining in the game, Matyson Wilke drove for two to give the Utes a 43-point lead, the largest of the game. Utah ended the game with a 93-56 victory over the Golden Bears. 

LEADERS
Utah had all five starters score in double figures and were led by Vieira’s 19 points, five assists, five steals and four rebounds. Pili dropped 18 points and recorded six rebounds and five assists. McQueen and Jenna Johnson each had 14  points. Johnson went 6-7 from the field while McQueen went 5-6 and 3-3 from the line. Young was the final Ute to hit double figures as she put up 11. 

Wilke came off the bench to add eight points for Utah going 3-3 from the field. Ross also came off the bench and made an impact, dominating the boards pulling down 10 rebounds.
