Alexis Lyons (Omaha Tribe) netted 12 points for ECU in 73-47 Win over Southeastern Oklahoma State

DURANT, Okla. – The East Central University women’s basketball team outscored Southeastern Oklahoma State 23-7 in the second quarter and continued to push the tempo for a 73-47 victory at Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

Scoring

• 1^st Quarter: 12-15
  • The teams traded shots in the first three minutes for a 5-all tie
  • The Savage Storm (1-1, 1-1 GAC) then went on a 6-0 run over the next two minutes to gain the lead
  • The Tigers (1-1, 1-1 GAC) countered with a 7-2 run to cut the deficit to one (13-12), with 18 seconds left
  • SEOSU hit two free throws with one second left to build the lead back to three
• 2^nd Quarter: 23-7 (35-22)
  • The difference remained within three points for the first two minutes
  • ECU then took control, with a 17-2 run, in the remaining time to take the lead into the half
• 3^rd Quarter: 23-17 (58-39)
  • The Tigers built the lead out to as many 21 (51-30), with four minutes left in the stanza
  • ECU kept the advantage around 20 for the rest of the quarter
• 4^th Quarter: 15-8 (73-47)
  • The Tigers kept the momentum on their side and pushed the lead out to as many as 27
