Aaliyah Nye (Potawatomi) Led Alabama with 19 Points as Women’s Basketball Falls to No. 13/13 LSU on the Road

BATON ROUGE, La. – Alabama women’s basketball fell to No. 13/13 LSU, 85-66, on Sunday afternoon in Pete Maravich Assembly Center.  

The Crimson Tide (19-7, 6-5 SEC) opened quickly, connecting on eight three-pointers while forcing eight LSU turnovers in the first half to hold the lead at the break, 41-31. LSU held Alabama to just nine points in the third to regain the lead for the first time since it led 4-3 in the game’s opening minutes and held the lead until the end.  

Four Alabama players scored in double figures, including Aaliyah Nye (19), Loyal McQueen (14) Jessica Timmons (13) and Sarah Ashlee Barker (11). Together, the foursome combined to score 57 of the team’s 66 points. 

Angel Reese led LSU (21-4, 8-3 SEC) with 27 points, 19 rebounds and six assists.
