by IRVINE, Calif. — Senior cross country runner Isaiah Thompson (San Pasqual band of Mission Indians) was named the Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week after his team-leading performance at the Pepperdine Invitational.
Thompson led the team with a third place individual finish with a time of 16:03.17 over a hilly 5,000 meter course at Alumni Park. The Anteaters went 2-0 in dual-meet scoring against the host Pepperdine (21-39) and conference foe Long Beach State (20-43) in the opening meet of the season.
Thompson and the Anteaters will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 17 for the UC Riverside Invitational. Last season, Thompson earned all-conference recognition with a fifth place finish at the Big West Conference Championships on the Riverside course and looks to repeat with another impressive performance.
