Lani Cornfield (Seneca) led Arizona with seven assists and added 11 points in Win over Northern Colorado

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona women’s basketball team took down the Bears of Northern Colorado, earning its fifth win of the season, 84-58, on Tuesday night inside the McKale Center. 

Arizona had four players in double-figures tonight including three with career-highs. Daniah Trammell led the Cats with 22 points. Kamryn Kitchen scored 16 points, 12 of which came from behind the arc. Mireia Jurado and Noelani Cornfield were also in double-figure scoring with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Cornfield led the Wildcats with seven assists on the night, while Sumayah Sugapong had six of her own to add to a career-high ten rebounds.

The Arizona defense forced 16 turnovers with seven different Wildcats recording a steal. Their defense helped them jump out to a 26-point lead late in the 4th period sparked by a nine point scoring run during the period.

The Wildcats were once again dominant in the paint, outscoring the Bears 54-22 inside. Arizona also had a big advantage off the bench tonight, outscoring Northern Colorado 42-15 in bench points.
