Lanae Billy (Navajo) Scores 11 Points as Weber State tops Montana Western in Ogden

OGDEN – Weber State women’s basketball put up a dominating 74-33 win this morning against the Montana Western Bulldogs. 

Weber State opened the game strong against Montana Western, finishing the first quarter with a dominant 17-4 lead after an early 7-0 run and holding the Bulldogs to just four points.

The Wildcats dominated the first half, heading into the break with a 39-11 lead. Strong defense by the ‘Cats held the Bulldogs to just 12.5 percent from the field and zero percent from three. On offense, Weber State shot 54.2 percent overall and 50 percent from deep. Paris Lauro was the standout scorer as she put up 14 points, going 4-for-5 from behind the arc.

The Wildcats continued to dominate in the second half, sinking five more 3-pointers. Effectively maintaining their lead, and preventing Montan Western from closing the gap, Weber State secured a 74-33 victory.

  • Paris Lauro led the squad with a career-high 21 points. Lauro shot 5-for-7 from behind the arc. 
  • Hannah Robbins put up 15 points and Lanae Billy put up 11.
  • Lauro and Antoniette Emma-Nnopu both totaled nine rebounds.
  • Weber State finished the game shooting 50.9 percent from the field and 40 percent from behind the arc.
  • The Wildcats totaled 12 steals and three blocks.
