Lanae Billy (Navajo) led the way for Weber State with 15 points in a loss at Eastern Washington, 73-58

CHENEY, Washington – Weber State women’s basketball fell 73-58 this Thursday evening to the Eastern Washington Eagles.

The Wildcats took an eight-point lead following a 9-0 run with under three minutes of game play in the first quarter, but the Eagles did not back down as they went on an 11-0 run to overcome the ‘Cats advantage and end the quarter 17-14. 

Weber State continued to trail in the second quarter despite two good 3-pointers put up by Paris Lauro.

Eastern Washington closed out the half ahead 36-27.

Lauro led the Wildcats at the half with 13 points. 

The Wildcats stayed competitive in the third quarter, putting up 14 points. However, an Eastern Washington 8-0 run kept them in the lead 54-41 headed into the final frame. 

A ten point run in the fourth quarter by the Wildcats put them down by just three points however, the Eagles made a crucial 7-0 run and then 8-0 run at the end to secure it 73-58.
