by WESSON – The Co-Lin Men’s Basketball team completed their season opening homestand by hosting Shelton State on Monday, November 10. The Wolves gave the Bucs their first loss of the season with a 61-54 victory.
The Wolves opened the game with a 9-4 scoring run to hold a lead by that margin with 15:41 left to play. The Bucs responded with a 7-4 scoring run, but the Wolves held their lead at 13-11 with 10:34 remaining in the first half. The Bucs then used a 10-5 scoring run to take a 21-18 lead over the Wolves with 4:41 left on the clock. The Wolves closed out the first half with an 8-6 scoring run, but the Bucs held the lead, 28-27, as the teams entered the locker rooms at halftime.
The Wolves opened the second half with 12-4 scoring run to take a 39-32 lead over the Bucs with 15:19 left on the clock. The Wolves then used a 10-6 scoring to push their lead to 49-38 with 9:20 left to play. The Bucs responded an 11-8 scoring run to cut the Wolves lead down to 57-49 with 4:51 remaining in the game. The Bucs closed out the game with a 5-4 scoring run but never got within seven points of the Wolves lead as they secure the 61-54 victory.
Koie Williams (Philadelphia) led the way for the Wolves as he led all scorers with 19 points paired with six rebounds, three assists, and one steal wile Tyrell Bowles (Springdale, Maryland) posted his third double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds while Dylan Creggett (DeSoto, Texas) had 16 points. LeBron Deal (Monroe, Louisiana) had six points while Morris Hammond (Ridgeland) had two points to round out the scoring for the Wolves.
